My grandmother fell and broke her hip in April 2010.  She has been having a hard time so I made this for her to try and cheer her up. 

The fabric is from the "Objects of Desire" collection from Moda.  It is wonderfully springy.  I added some more blues to have enough for sashing.  The basket pattern is from Quilter's Newsletter November 2009 and was designed by Aby Dolinger.

I didn't want a solid back so I made the block backing as well.  It is two packs of charm packs, sewn into dark/light grids, then each square is bordered with a sweet roll strip, then sewn into a dark/light grid.

I did the quilting myself and am embarrassed by the shifting of the front and back while being quilted.  Oops!  This is my 37th quilt and you'd think I'd do better by now. 

A fun piece to sew together and I hope that it cheers her up.  I love you Grammum!
